Matthew and David's Tepee's

We recently trimmed our Crepe Myrtle trees because we will soon be getting a new roof on the house and didn't want the roofing guys to do the trimming. With all those limbs Matthew and David got an idea to build a tepee. They actually ended up building two and did a really good job:)

Trains and more Trains

David and Matthew headed up to Spencer, North Carolina, and went to the Transportation Museum and did what else but ride a train. That boy loves some train riding!

Tweetsie Railfan Weekend

We went to Railfan Weekend at Tweetsie back in September. This is the weekend that you can walk the tracks and go into areas that are usually not available to walk to or look at. They also hook up both engines(#12 and #190) and do a double header which is the video at the bottom of the post. We all had a great day and of course Matthew is ready for next years trip back for railfan weekend:)

We went up to Tweetsie for railfain weekend; me, David and Matthew. It was really fun, for all of us!!!

David and Matthew headed up to the Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC for of course a train ride and seeing lots of train stuff!

Abby is almost one now and is what we think will be full grown for her, she is a nice 15 pounds and really is a great dog for our family:) We love her!!

Matthew and Davids latest work, teepees! We had to trim our Crepe Myrtles a little early this year as we will have roofers coming by the end of the month to do the roof from our summertime hail storms. We wanted to do the triming rather than them so after the work was done, of course the boys found something to do with what they had left:) Joe and Grace came down that day too and Joe lent a hand and they all enjoyed a nice afternoon outdoors in the Fall weather.

Mrs. Shari's Visit:)

We were so excited that Shari came for a four day visit while
she had a break from School. We have really enjoyed our visits
this year from family and friends and hope that they have as well.
We started her visit with a Mexican night and then the next night she and
the kids wanted to do a campfire with hotdogs and smores for dessert. We
did the Schiele Museum and went thru the cave exhibit and went to see
Pirates of the Carribean. For the 4th we headed to Tweetsie and the
first part of the day was beautiful. We couldn't get Shari on the Ferris
Wheel, but we enjoyed the other rides until the rain came, and stayed.....
Elizabeth and I were lucky enough to get hair make overs while
she was here, and hope she will come back for touch ups:) We were sad
to see her leave, but look forward to another visit hopefully after she
graduates from nursing school so we can celebrate her accomplishment!!!

Hotdogs and Smores!

Hair day!

Matthew got a head start with a few sparklers before the 4th!

Mrs. Shari also helped Liz do her nails for the 4th! Thanks again
for the early B-day gift!

Mrs. Shari, Matthew, Elizabeth and 190! Matthew was in heaven!

Time to go:(

Happy Fathers Day!

We are behind on posting so I am going to try to catch up, this one
is obviously Fathers Day. David had a good day, which started
with breakfast and a new shovel! We went to church and then ate lunch
with my Dad for Fathers Day and his B-day. I think they both had a good day!

Matthew did David a Happy Fathers Day train car just like he
did for me on Mothers Day. Love it:)
